Karin Eklund

Karin Eklund is a Cambridge-based illustrator and lecturer with a passion for bringing stories to life through her art. Her latest book, The Art and Life of Hilma af Klint (Thames & Hudson), arrived just in time for the visionary artist’s major Tate Modern retrospective—now captivating audiences worldwide.

With a rich portfolio of children’s books and collaborations with academics, museums, and educators, Karin’s illustrations are as thoughtful as they are visually striking. Her work is emotionally charged, deeply narrative-driven, and always infused with a sense of wonder—whether she’s crafting a picture book, illuminating complex ideas, or creating imagery for museums.

Beyond her illustration work, Karin runs a range of drawing courses in Cambridge, helping artists of all levels refine their skills and explore their creativity.

She has worked with leading publishers and institutions, including Alfabeta, Thames & Hudson, Naxos, Centre for Family Research, Cambridge Botanic Garden, Moderna Museet, and Seemann-Henschel.
